LAWANG APP takes pride in its commitment to empowering women artisans across various provinces of Afghanistan. In the winter of 2022, we embarked on a transformative journey, supporting over 400 artisans, with a notable 85% being resilient and talented women.
Our dedicated efforts focused on the holistic development of these artisans, aiming to enhance their skills and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through meticulous planning and execution, we directly supported approximately 223,971 USD in a program with the support of DAI/NRC/CordAid that encompassed comprehensive capacity development and livelihood support.
The outcomes of our winter program were heartening. The majority of the women artisans we supported were now equipped with the skills and knowledge to work from the comfort of their homes. This newfound independence allows them to earn a dignified income while preserving and promoting their traditional crafts.
LAWANG remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower women artisans. We envision a future where their talents continue to thrive, and the ripple effects of our programs contribute to the socio-economic development of communities.
